I recently read The Make-Believe and, quite surprisingly for me, it had a big impact on me. Seeing so many experiences that I could relate to in print, even with significant differences between my experiences and Hannah Murray's, has been quite something! Still working out how I feel about the impact it's had on me 😆
I'm currently reading Maybe I Don't Belong Here by David Harewood and, while his experiences so far in that feel more distant from mine, I am finding it another impactful look at madness/mental health
I hadn't heard of the David Harewood book, I will check it out! Did you know that Centre for Mad Culture UK has a book group? Our next meeting will be on 9 September for discussion of Faces in the Water by Janet Frame
